Fritillaria imperialis 'Early Passion' is a special addition to the range of crown imperials. This elegant spring bulb distinguishes itself with its subtle yellow flower colour, delicate veined flowers, and especially by its pleasant, compact height of approximately 80 cm. As a result, this crown imperial is excellent for use in borders, where it provides structure and height without dominating.

'Early Passion' blooms early in spring, usually in April, providing a striking accent in the garden when many perennials have yet to emerge. The soft yellow flowers hang gracefully beneath the characteristic crown of leaves and also emit a light fragrance. Thanks to its warm color, this Fritillaria pairs beautifully with tulips, daffodils, and other spring bloomers.

Plant the bulbs in the autumn in a sunny to partially shaded location in well-draining soil. For the best results, plant the bulbs at a depth of approximately 15 cm with a spacing of 20 to 25 cm between them. Allow for about 20 bulbs per square meter for a rich flowering effect.

Fritillaria imperialis 'Early Passion' is less suitable for naturalizing or pot planting, but comes into its own in borders and spacious planting beds. Furthermore, the cultivar is popular for its harmonious plant structure and reliable early flowering.
