Fritillaria imperialis 'Orange Beauty®' is a spectacular new crown imperial that stands out for its early flowering, robust growth, and strikingly abundant inflorescence. This special cultivar produces numerous large, bell-shaped flowers in warm orange-red shades, which hang gracefully beneath a crown of fresh green leaves. With an impressive height of approximately 125 cm, 'Orange Beauty®' is a true eye-catcher in borders and spring plantings.
The strong stem is remarkably sturdy and therefore not very susceptible to wind. Even smaller bulb sizes ensure excellent flowering; size 18-20 virtually guarantees flowers. This makes this cultivar particularly reliable and profusely flowering. After flowering, decorative seed pods develop that are excellent for drying and use in floral arrangements or natural decorations.
The bulbs of Fritillaria imperialis 'Orange Beauty®' also have unique characteristics. They are strikingly white, firm, and round in shape, making them highly suitable for dry sales and long-term storage. Furthermore, the bulbs are not very susceptible to fusarium, which ensures healthy growth and a longer shelf life.
This crown imperial blooms very early in April and May and grows best in a sunny to partially shaded location in well-drained soil. Plant the bulbs at a depth of approximately 10 to 15 cm with a spacing of 20 to 25 cm between them. For a rich effect, use approximately 20 bulbs per square meter.
Fritillaria imperialis 'Orange Beauty®' is deer- and rodent-resistant, has a light fragrance, and is suitable as a cut flower. Due to its impressive height and exotic appearance, this fritillaria is ideal for striking spring borders.
