Gladiolus Aurora is a striking large-flowered gladiolus with beautiful purple to fuchsia-colored flowers. The lighter nuances on the inside of the flowers create extra depth and a lively play of colors. As a result, Aurora has a fresh yet elegant appearance. This special gladiolus is an excellent choice for colorful summer borders, cutting gardens, and stylish bouquets.
Reaching a height of approximately 100 to 120 cm, Gladiolus Aurora forms long, stately flower stalks above the characteristic sword-shaped leaves. Flowering typically occurs from July through September. Due to its height, Aurora looks stunning in the middle or at the back of the border. Plant several bulbs together for an impressive and colorful result.
Plant the bulbs in the spring in a sunny and preferably sheltered location. Gladioli grow best in nutritious, well-drained soil. By planting several times starting in the spring, with a few weeks' interval between plantings, the flowering period can be spread out and you can enjoy fresh flowers for longer.
The purple-fuchsia flowers of Gladiolus Aurora combine perfectly with white and soft pink summer flowers for a romantic look. Conversely, when combined with yellow, orange, or fresh green, a powerful and modern contrast is created.
Gladiolus Aurora is also highly suitable as a cut flower. The long flower stems and striking color instantly add height and presence to bouquets. The cultivar is offered in the professional cut flower trade with stems of approximately 115 to 130 cm.
With its striking colors, stately growth, and versatile use, Gladiolus Aurora is a beautiful summer bloomer for both the garden and a vase.
