An evenly ripening and high-yielding butternut squash.
Uniform butternut squash of 1.5–2 kg, a good size for both fresh market and home use.
The plants are vigorous, produce a good yield, and exhibit good tolerance to powdery mildew (PMT). Butternut squash require a warm, sheltered location. Direct sowing is possible in warm locations.
Maturation time: 90 days.
Pluto ranks moderately.
Cucurbita moschata requires a lot of warmth and is therefore best cultivated in advance. Varieties with a ripening time of up to 110 days also thrive in colder regions.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, hold the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cool location.
For Pluto F1 we recommend 1–2 square meters per plant.
