Proven and reliable main variety.
Pilgrim sets fruit quite early and ripens early; the fruits weigh around 1.5–2 kg and show no cracks.
Pilgrim stores well. The number of top-quality fruits is above average, and Pilgrim has thus established itself as a top performer in our cultivation. We recommend pre-cultivation and transplanting for a fully ripe harvest.
Maturation time: 95 days.
Moderate climbing growth behaviour.
Cucurbita moschata requires a lot of warmth and therefore requires proper cultivation. Varieties with a ripening time of up to 110 days also thrive in colder regions.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, hold the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cool location.
For Pilgrim F1 we recommend 1–2 square meters of space per plant.
