Description

Medium sized nutmeg pumpkin with good yields.

Flatter than the Hambra, nicely ribbed, weighing about 4–5 kg. The meat is lighter, but with a special, fruity note.

Moderately climbing, good yield. Requires warmth, must be pre-cultivated in Central Europe, and requires a sunny location during a good summer. Ripens when the color begins to change to ochre brown, or, as is common with butternut squash, when the white patina appears on the skin.

Butternut squash can be harvested at the beginning of ripening in a room around 20°C (68°F) and can be ripened further within 3 to 5 weeks. They will change color easily to full ripeness. The quality of the flesh also improves in this situation.

Maturation period: 100-110 days.

Lugo F1 ranks moderately.

Cucurbita moschata requires a lot of warmth and is therefore best grown early. Varieties with a ripening time of up to 110 days also thrive in colder regions.

Optimal germination occurs at 24-30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or flatten it. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cooler location.

For Lugo F1 we recommend 1-2 square meters per plant.

Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
