Modern butternut hybrid with very uniform fruits of 1.2–1.4 kg.
Isabelle F1 produces beautiful, block-shaped fruits, slightly constricted and slightly larger than the popular JWS 6823 F1.
The plants are vining, highly productive, and well-adapted to the Central European climate. Butternuts need a warm, sheltered spot.
Maturation time: 100 days.
Ranking behavior: moderately ranking.
Cultivation advice: Cucurbita moschata requires a lot of warmth and is therefore better sown early.
Varieties with a ripening time of up to 110 days also do well in cooler regions.
Optimal germination: 24–30°C. Sow seeds with the pointed end downward or lay them flat. Do not keep them too moist. After germination, store them in a lighter, cooler spot.
For Isabelle F1 we recommend 1–2 m² per plant.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
