Under good conditions the plant gives a rich harvest.
The medium green, slightly hairy fruits have a special taste.
Because of its warmth requirements it is better grown as a melon, preferably in a greenhouse, but it also grows well outdoors in warm, sunny places.
Cultivation is possible both on the ground and by tying up.
The harvest starts in July in warm locations.
Sow the seeds indoors in early April at 20–25°C, directly, one seed per small pot. Keep the pots moist until germination. Plant out from early to mid-May at a distance of 1 x 1 m.
