Safe to grow, mid-late variety with an excellent, extra sweet flavour.
These characteristics have earned Tasty Sweet a reputation and made it one of the standard varieties of sweet corn. The golden-yellow cobs can be stored refrigerated for several days without loss of quality. Sweet corn must be harvested when the kernels are milky, otherwise the sugar turns into starch. A mid-season variety with all-around talent, it is tolerant to a wide range of conditions.
The seeds are usually sown directly outdoors from May onwards, 15–20 cm apart in the row and 60–80 cm between rows. Depending on the sowing date, harvest takes place from July to October.
Care tip for sweetcorn: Sweetcorn harvest can be accelerated by covering the plants with fleece or perforated film. It's important to sow in warm, not too wet soil so the plants germinate and grow well. It's wise to sow in 2–3 instalments to ensure a continuous harvest of ears.
