Versatile vine tomato.
Rio Grande produces numerous, elongated, oval fruits with a deep red color. The fruits are firm, thick-fleshed, and robust. Suitable for salads, they're also popular in ketchup and sauces.
The plant grows deterministically and reaches a height of approximately 130 cm. Suitable for both outdoor and greenhouse cultivation.
Sow at 20–25°C from February to the end of March, then cultivate from February to April, transplanting into the ground after the last frost. Harvesting takes place from late July to September.
Tomatoes prefer sunny, sheltered locations. The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and nutrient-rich.
Tomato plants require a lot of water. Never water them with cold tap water. The water should be at least room temperature. Always ensure the leaves remain dry to reduce the risk of tomato rot.
