Indigo Rose produces medium-sized fruits that turn purple to black on the sunny side. On the shaded side, the fruits turn from green to red as they ripen. As with all dark tomato varieties, the dark color is caused by anthocyanins, a substance considered to have health benefits. Indigo Rose is certainly an interesting addition to the tomato range.
Sow at 20–25°C from February to the end of March, then cultivate from February to April, transplanting into the ground after the last frost. Harvesting takes place from late July to September.
Tomatoes prefer sunny, sheltered locations. The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and nutrient-rich.
Tomato plants require a lot of water. Never water them with cold tap water. The water should be at least room temperature. Always ensure the leaves remain dry to reduce the risk of tomato rot.
