Impressive, pink beefsteak tomato of the oxheart type.
Herodes is a medium-late beefsteak tomato.
The pink fruits, which vary in colour depending on the location, weigh about 250 g and are heart-shaped.
Very suitable for grilling or for sandwiches.
Like all beefsteak tomatoes, Herod likes warmth and shelter, but also does well in warm spots in the open ground.
Sow at 20–25°C from February to the end of March, then cultivate from February to April, transplanting into the ground after the last frost. Harvesting takes place from late July to September.
Tomatoes prefer sunny, sheltered locations. The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and nutrient-rich.
Tomato plants require a lot of water. Never water them with cold tap water. The water should be at least room temperature. Always ensure the leaves remain dry to reduce the risk of tomato rot.
