An unusually colored yellow radish. Zlata means golden yellow in Croatian.
Zlata is an unusually colored radish that is best suited for spring and autumn cultivation. Zlata is less suitable for midsummer. Even when overripe, Zlata doesn't become fibrous and has no tendency to bolt. Red radishes are widely available, but you have to grow yellow radishes yourself.
Sowing takes place outdoors and in greenhouses from late February to early September. Sow directly in rows, 20 cm apart, 3 cm thinly within the row. Harvesting takes place from May to October, approximately 30–35 days after sowing.
If you sow seeds every 3 weeks you will always have fresh radishes.
Radishes should always be well watered, not harvested when overripe, and never allowed to dry out, as this will lead to pungency and woodiness.
