Passiflora ligularis, commonly known as sweet granadilla or grenadia, is a climbing species in the passion flower family, native to the southern part of South America.
The fast-growing climber is woody at the base and has hairless, tubular stems up to 5 meters long. The unbranched, spiraling tendrils emerge from the leaf axils.
The flowers, 9 cm wide, are white with purple or violet tinges. The fruits ripen from green through yellow to orange with white spots. Their shelf life is limited. The fruits are spherical to oval and measure 6–10 × 4–7 cm.
The plant can tolerate short periods of light frost, but does not tolerate dry, hot conditions well.
