Better known as Sea Lavender or Broad-Leaf Statice, it is a perennial herbaceous plant. It is prized for its delicate, cloud-like flowers and its adaptability to challenging growing conditions.
The plant produces small, papery flowers in shades of lavender-blue to light purple. The flowers are arranged on wiry, branching stems, creating airy, open bouquets that resemble a fine mist of color. The basal leaves are broad, leathery, and glossy green, with an oblong to lance-shaped shape. They form a low rosette close to the ground. The flower stems are long, slender, and slightly woody at the base, rising above the foliage.
Low maintenance; only occasional deadheading is required to promote flowering and keep the plant tidy.
