Hypoestes phyllostachya Coloratus® Red is a cheerful, tropical foliage plant, with a neat and compact growth habit and a playful appearance.
It has heart-shaped leaves, with variegated dark green and bright scarlet speckles and spots.
Hypoestes phyllostachya is native to tropical Madagascar as a herbaceous perennial. There, it grows in shady locations in the understory of forests and rainforests, where it can form a dense carpet.
Hypoestes is very decorative as a houseplant and mixes beautifully with all colors. As an annual, it's also suitable for patio pots and flowerbeds.
