Gladiolus Green Star® is a striking large-flowered gladiolus with a particularly fresh lime-green to yellow-green flower color. Green is a rare color among gladioli, and precisely because of this, Green Star® is a real eye-catcher. The large, slightly wavy flowers stand along sturdy, upright stems and give borders, cutting gardens, and bouquets a modern and exclusive look.
This profusely flowering gladiolus reaches a height of approximately 120 cm, making it very suitable for the middle or background of a border. Flowering occurs mainly in July and August, with the flowers gradually opening from bottom to top on the flower spike.
Plant the Gladiolus Green Star® bulbs in the spring, preferably from April to June, in a warm and sunny location. Choose nutritious, well-draining soil and plant the bulbs approximately 7 to 10 cm deep, with about 10 to 12 cm spacing between them. By planting different groups at intervals, you can spread the flowering period over a longer time.
The fresh green color makes Green Star® particularly versatile in the garden. For example, combine this gladiolus with white, pink, or purple summer flowers for an elegant effect. The green also provides a surprising contrast next to colorful dahlias and other tall perennials.
Gladiolus Green Star® is also an excellent cut flower. The long, sturdy stems and distinctive color make it ideal for summer bouquets and contemporary floral arrangements.
With its unique color, stately growth, and excellent qualities as a cut flower, Gladiolus Green Star® is a special addition to any summer garden.
