Dianthus Barbienne is a highly productive biennial series with long, robust stems and large, beautifully shaped, dense flower clusters.

The different varieties are uniform in flowering time and are more resistant to rust than standard Dianthus series.

Sow Barbienne in a greenhouse from late summer to early autumn, for flowering from late winter to mid-spring. Outdoors, sow in mid-summer for a harvest from mid-spring to early summer. Under tunnels, you can even start earlier with a young plant as starting material.

Dianthus Barbienne needs a cold period to flower, but it can be planned well and blooms profusely with heavy quality flower stems.
