Rare variety with short, blunt roots and a wide beet shape.
Length 10–12 cm, width 6–8 cm, light orange. Very strong foliage; juicy, sweet, and aromatic. Very suitable as a sap root. Oxheart is a late storage variety with a relatively long development period; do not sow too densely or thin out later to approximately 30 plants/m². The roots have an exceptionally good flavor.
Sow directly outdoors, sowing depth 0.5 cm. Row spacing: 30–40 cm, 10–12 cm within the row. To protect against carrot root fly, choose open, windy locations or cover with netting. Do not apply fresh fertilizer. Carrots prefer sunny locations and light, well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Harvest period: 140–160 days after sowing.
Carrots should only be grown in the same spot every six years. They grow well alongside corn, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and potatoes.
