Sowing and cultivation instructions

Sowing method

  • Sow directly outdoors from early March for early cultivation and until early June for storage

  • Sowing depth: 0.5 cm

  • Row spacing: 30–40 cm

  • Distance in the row: 3–4 cm between the seeds

Location

  • Choose a sunny, warm location for optimal growth

  • Soil: light, well-drained and nutrient-rich soil

  • To protect against carrot fly: open, windy places or use nets

  • No fresh fertilizer when sowing to prevent cracks and lumps

Harvest and storage time

  • Harvest period: 120–130 days after sowing

  • Dolciva BIO can be harvested fresh for consumption or stored for long periods in cool conditions

Crop rotation

  • Grow carrots in the same place only every 6 years

  • Suitable for combination cultivation with corn, tomatoes, onions, lettuce and potatoes
