White Pearl forms beautiful, distinct, almost round acorn squashes that are pure white and retain their color for a very long time.
Acorn squash are very popular in the US, where they are halved, roasted in the oven and then served with maple syrup.
The fruits weigh around 500–600 g and make a good appetizer when served in halves. The plants grow as a bush without tendrils.
Maturation time: 90 days.
White Pearl grows as a shrub.
C. pepo grows well in warm, well-drained soils. Sow early and plant out from late April or sow directly from early May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cooler location.
For White Pearl we recommend 1 square meter per plant.
