A very decorative, green-coloured patisson.
Strikingly shaped, some with more pronounced "fingers." The ripe fruits are 15–20 cm long. For a pattypan squash, Skat F1 is quite robust and has a long shelf life.
This breed is particularly decorative.
Maturation period: 80–85 days.
C. pepo grows well in warm, well-drained soils, pre-cultivated and planted out by sowing from late April or direct sowing from early May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cooler location.
Pattypans require little space, usually 1 m² per plant is sufficient.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
