Colourful, claw-shaped mixture, very decorative.
The Crown mixture is fairly uniform in size, about 12cm tall, and is characterised by the claw-like shaped fruits.
The Shenot Crowns variety is fairly uniform and produces fruits in shades of white, yellowish-orange, and green. The fruits are usually smooth.
Real ornamental pumpkin, not suitable for consumption.
Maturation time: 100 days.
Rank behaviour: luxuriant.
C. pepo grows well in warm, well-drained soils, pre-cultivated and planted out by sowing from late April or direct sowing from early May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cooler location.
The planting distance for pumpkins depends on the tendril behaviour.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
