A large, round pumpkin.
Rockstar is a tried and tested, large-fruited Halloween pumpkin, ribbed, beautifully orange, weighing approximately 10–12 kg.
Halloween pumpkin with high ornamental value, less suitable for the kitchen.
Maturation time: 100 days.
Moderately ranking.
C. pepo grows well in warm, well-drained soils, pre-cultivated and planted out by sowing from late April or direct sowing from early May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cooler location.
The planting distance for pumpkins depends on the tendril behaviour.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
