Typical spaghetti squash with compact growth.
Pyza produces light yellow, egg-shaped fruits typical of this group of varieties, with flesh that breaks down into spaghetti-like threads when cooked.
The fruits weigh around 1.5 kg and are ideal for consumption. The plant grows bushy and compact with short tendrils.
Spaghetti squash is also suitable for other pumpkin dishes.
Maturation period: 80–85 days.
Pyza grows compact.
C. pepo grows well in warm, well-drained soils, pre-cultivated and planted out by sowing from late April or direct sowing from early May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cooler location.
For Pyza we recommend approximately 1–2 m² per plant.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
