Somewhat variable in colour.
Small, yellow-green pear trees, these highly productive plants bear fruits of approximately 6–8 cm in size, which are very popular for ornamental use. The pear-shaped fruits are usually two-toned yellow-green, rarely solid yellow or solid green.
Real ornamental pumpkin, not suitable for consumption.
Maturation time: 85 days.
Rank behaviour: luxuriant.
C. pepo grows well in warm, well-drained soils, pre-cultivated and planted out by sowing from late April or direct sowing from early May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cooler location.
The planting distance for pumpkins depends on the tendril behaviour.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
