Cucurbita pepo Kratos F1 PMT is an exceptionally large slicing pumpkin that combines both ornamental and practical qualities. This variety produces round, firmly ribbed fruits weighing 9–12 kg with a bright orange color and a dark green, attractively shaped stem, making Kratos F1 a show-stopper in any garden and at any harvest. The compact, vigorous plants are ideal for both home gardeners and commercial growers, and PMT powdery mildew resistance ensures a reliable and healthy harvest, even in challenging weather conditions.
Kratos F1 is known for its large, uniform, and decorative fruits. The pumpkins are round to slightly flattened, making them ideal for carving, autumn decoration, or culinary use. The beautiful dark green stems give the fruits an elegant appearance and make them perfect for presentations, lanterns, or table decorations.
Thanks to their vigorous, compact growth habit, the plants can be managed effectively while still producing a high yield of excellent fruit. Kratos F1 is an excellent example of a top-class cutting pumpkin, with a harmonious balance of shape, color, and firmness.
Kratos F1 matures in approximately 110 days, making it ideal for late autumn and Halloween harvests. The large, robust fruits are durable and keep well, making them both decorative and suitable for culinary uses such as soups, purees, or stews.
The PMT powdery mildew resistance provides an additional advantage, as leaf spots and fungal problems develop later or are completely limited. This makes Kratos F1 a reliable and easy-care variety, even in areas where powdery mildew is common.
Kratos F1 grows best in warm, well-drained soil with ample nutrients. For an optimal start, the seeds can be pre-sown from late April or directly sown from early May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, it's important to hold the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat, and avoid keeping the seed too moist. After germination, the seedlings can be moved to a brighter, cooler location to develop strong, healthy plants.
Kratos F1 grows with short tendrils, meaning the plants remain compact and manageable while still developing large, uniform fruits. For optimal fruit development and healthy growth, 1–2 square meters per plant is recommended. This compact growth makes the variety suitable for smaller plots, hobby gardens, and commercial cultivation with limited space.
