A classic among lantern pumpkins.
Round and weighing between 5 and 8 kg, Jack O' Lantern is a Halloween classic. However, for professional cultivation, we recommend other, newer varieties.
A highly decorative Halloween pumpkin, some of which are suitable for cooking. The flesh can be used for soup.
Maturation period: 100–105 days.
Rank behaviour: luxuriant.
C. pepo grows well in warm, well-drained soils, pre-cultivated and planted out by sowing from late April or direct sowing from early May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cooler location.
The planting distance for pumpkins depends on the tendril behaviour.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
