A long-lost type of patisson from the island of Mauritius.
Very large fruit, between 20 and 25 cm in diameter. The fruits are very decorative in shape and the color is a rich, dark yellow.
Pattypans grow in bush form and take up little space.
Jung cares who Zucchini would spoil. (Harvested young to use as zucchini).
Maturation period: 50–80 days.
Île de Maurice grows in a shrub form.
C. pepo grows well in warm, well-drained soils, pre-cultivated and planted out by sowing from late April or direct sowing from early May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24-30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cooler location.
Île de Maurice needs about 1 square meter of space per plant.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
