A very decorative, dark yellow-orange coloured patisson.
Strikingly shaped with more pronounced "fingers." Ripe fruits are 15–20 cm long.
Yellow varieties tend to turn green when infected with common pumpkin viruses, which in this case also has a decorative effect. For a pattypan.
Helios F1 is quite robust and long-lasting. This variety is particularly decorative.
Maturation period: 80–85 days.
C. pepo grows well in warm, well-drained soils, pre-cultivated and planted out by sowing from late April or direct sowing from early May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24-30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cooler location.
Pattypans require little space, usually 1 square meter per plant is sufficient.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
