Growth form and plant structure

Favorita Mixture F1 PMT grows bushy and compact, making it a compact variety that requires little space and is ideal for dense plantings. Its compact growth makes it easy to manage and prevents the plants from shading each other, contributing to healthy fruit and a high yield.

Characteristics of the plant:

  • Bushy and compact

  • Little space required: approx. 1 m² per plant

  • Suitable for pots, borders and small plots

  • High fruit set and uniform harvest

Cultivation and sowing method

Cucurbita pepo Favorita mixture F1 PMT grows best in warm, well-drained soil. For optimal development, either pre-cultivation or direct sowing can be used:

  • Pre-cultivation: sow from the end of April and plant out after the last night frost

  • Direct sowing: from early May, when the soil has warmed up well

Seed treatment and germination:

  • Sow the pointed end down or flat

  • Keep the soil slightly moist, not too wet

  • After germination, place in a lighter and cooler place

The optimal germination temperature is between 24–30 °C, and the maturation time is approximately 90 days, which means this mixture produces quickly harvestable and uniform ornamental pumpkins.

Diseases and pests

Thanks to their resistance to powdery mildew (PMT), the plants are robust and well-resistant to common pumpkin diseases. However, the following pests may occur:

  • Snails

  • Birds

  • Mice

  • Lice

  • Mildew

  • Viruses

Good airflow, healthy soil and adequate care help plants stay strong and productive.
