Description

Also available as Spinning Gourd.

The world's smallest pumpkin is an early fruiterer, producing many mini pumpkins measuring 3–6 cm. The fruits dry very well and are ideal for decoration (e.g., painting and crafts).

The name comes from the tradition, popular around the turn of the century, of American boys carrying such a "natural spinning top" in their pockets. This breed disappeared for a long time after that, and we are pleased to be able to offer this fun, extravagant breed again.

Real ornamental pumpkin, not suitable for consumption.

Maturation time: 90 days.

Moderately ranking.

C. pepo grows well in warm, well-drained soils, pre-grown and planted by sowing from late April or direct sowing from early May.

Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or flatten it. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cooler location.

The planting distance for pumpkins depends on the tendril behaviour.

Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
