Exceptional, small, green-black ornamental pumpkin.
The striking color and highly decorative shape make the fruits unique, weighing approximately 400–600 g. The dark green-black color changes to orange very late, usually not until October in normal cultivation. Therefore, do not sow too early in warm locations.
A nice addition to the Casperita F1 and Orangita F1 varieties. Black Kat F1 is also suitable for use as a portion pumpkin, whole, filled, and cooked.
Maturation time: 90 days.
Black Kat F1 grows bushy.
C. pepo grows well in warm, well-drained soil, with pre-cultivation and planting out by sowing from late April or by direct sowing from early May.
Optimal germination temperature: 24–30°C. Sow with the pointed end of the seed facing down or lay it flat. Don't keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cool place.
For Black Kat F1 we recommend approx. 1 m² per plant.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
