Colorful and tasty.
Speckled Hound F1 produces striking salmon-pink fruits with blue-gray stripes. The fruits are round to slightly angular and beautifully ribbed. As they ripen, the blue stripes fade.
Weighing about 1.5–2.5 kg, the fruits are handy and excellent for the kitchen.
The plants bear 4–5 fruits, grow compactly with short tendrils and provide a very good harvest.
Speckled Hound F1 is an excellent cooking pumpkin.
Maturation time: 90 days.
Growth habit: compact, with short tendrils.
Cucurbita maxima are generally robust and provide excellent nutrition. This variety thrives in warm, well-drained soil.
Pre-sow and plant by sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, hold the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cool location.
For Speckled Hound F1 we recommend 2 m² per plant.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
