This extraordinary new variety from Japanese breeding completely defies the usual expectations of a giant pumpkin. The beautiful fruits weigh only about 400–600 g and are a highlight not only as decoration but also as a decorative element.
These fruits are ideal for cooking. Whole or filled, they meet all the expectations of a gourmet appetizer.

Cucurbita maxima are generally robust and provide excellent food. The variety thrives in warm, well-drained soil.
Pre-sow and plant by sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, hold the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cool location.
For Shokichi Shiro Mixture F1 we recommend 2 square meters per plant.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
