Shadow Moon F1 produces attractive, ribbed fruits weighing approximately 7 kg. The pinkish-red fruits are lightly speckled, adding to their decorative value. The flesh is thick, dark yellow, and suitable for cooking.

Cucurbita maxima are generally robust and provide excellent food. The variety thrives in warm, well-drained soil.
Pre-sow and plant by sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, hold the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cool location.
