A variety once widely grown in the US that was rediscovered by chance. A true enrichment among red pumpkins.
Maturation time: 115 days.
Rank behaviour: luxuriant.
This variety grows well in warm, well-drained soils.
Pre-sow and plant by sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, hold the pointed end of the seed downward or lay it flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cool location.
The planting distance for pumpkins depends on the tendril behaviour.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, mildew, viruses.
