Golias bears bright orange to light red fruits weighing around 20 to 30 kg, and under good conditions up to about 70 kg.
A beautiful ornamental gourd whose flesh is certainly usable. The fruits are suitable for cooking, e.g., soup.
Golias ranks strongly.
This variety grows well in warm, well-drained soils.
Pre-cultivation and planting out by sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or flatten it. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cool location.
For Golias we recommend approximately 3–4 m² per plant.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, powdery mildew, viruses.
