A highlight from our range.
Beautiful, reddish, flat pumpkin of 2–4 kg.
Excellent as a soup vegetable.
Garbo comes in colors ranging from orange-reddish-terracotta to deep red. This interesting coloration sometimes makes it highly decorative.
In shape it is a sort of smaller Rouge Vif, but proportionally more strongly ribbed.
We selected Garbo from the South American breed Moranga exposecao . Because he truly convinced us that he's an improvement, he's now replacing this breed with us.
Maturation time: 100 days.
Moderately ranking.
This variety grows well in warm, well-drained soils.
Pre-cultivation and planting out by sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.
Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or flatten it. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cool location.
The planting distance for pumpkins depends on the tendril behaviour.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, aphids, powdery mildew, viruses.
