Big Max is a round giant pumpkin, up to about 50 kg, ranging in color from pinkish pink to bright orange.

The fruits are particularly popular as decoration, and the pulp is suitable for soup.

Pre-cultivation and planting out by sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.

Optimal germination occurs at 24–30°C. When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed downward or flatten it. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place it in a bright, cool location.

The planting distance for pumpkins depends on the tendril behaviour.
