Description

Tried and tested variety for salting and preserving gherkins.

Vorgebirgstraube is one of the most well-known gherkins and has been extensively tested in cultivation. Gherkins require good fertilizer and a regular water supply. Sowing under plastic or fleece ensures good germination and protects against bird damage.

Sow indoors at 22–25°C from March to May, followed by pre-cultivation and transplanting; direct sowing with 2–3 seeds is possible from early May. The planting distance is approximately 150 x 30 cm. Harvesting takes place continuously from approximately July to October.

Cucumbers appreciate a good and balanced supply of nutrients as well as regular watering during dry periods, which ensures a continuous and bountiful harvest.
