Kajari is a beautiful, colorful small melon that originally comes from India.
It ripens quite early, within 70–80 days, making it suitable for cultivation in Central Europe.
When it is ready to harvest, it gives off a wonderfully intense scent and often falls off the plant of its own accord.
Despite its small size, it is a delicacy, with buttery-soft and aromatic flesh.
Muskmelons give off a strong odor when ripe.
Melons grow moderately and need about 1–2 square meters per plant.
Melons do well on mulch film.
In a nice, warm summer, the pulp contains more sugar than in a cold summer.
The seeds can be sown indoors from early April at 24–28°C, directly with 1–2 seeds in the small pot (do not keep the pots too damp), or outdoors from mid-May in a warm location. Harvest in warm locations takes place from mid-July.
Possible pests: aphids, mice, mildew.
