Early, small, yellow-fleshed, very sweet watermelon
Early, very compact watermelon of 1–1.5 kg with light yellow flesh and, in a sufficiently warm summer, a very sweet taste.
Petite Yellow is recommended for anyone who wants to try the otherwise demanding melon cultivation.
The success of the cultivation and the sugar content of the fruit depend on warmth and sun. Melons need a warm location.
The plants grow moderately and require 1–2 m² per plant. Mulch is recommended.
In a warm summer, the flesh contains more sugar than in a cool summer.
Sowing instructions: sow indoors from early April at 24–28 °C, directly 1–2 seeds per pot (do not keep the pots too moist), or outdoors from mid-May in a warm place.
Possible pests: aphids, mice, mildew, downy mildew and viral diseases.
