Description

Crimstar F1 – early, sweet and reliable watermelon.

Crimstar F1 is a particularly robust and early variety of the striped crimson type.

The round to oval fruits weigh an average of 5–8 kg, a manageable size, and have the typical striped skin.

The success of the cultivation and the sugar content of the fruit depend on warmth and sun. Melons need a warm location.

The plants grow moderately and require approximately 1–2 m² per plant. A mulch layer is recommended.

In a warm summer the pulp contains more sugar than in a cool summer.

Sowing instructions: Sow indoors from early April at 24–28 °C, directly with 1–2 seeds per pot (do not keep the pots too moist) or outdoors in a warm place from mid-May.

Possible pests: aphids, mice, mildew, downy mildew and viral diseases.
