Description

Chrysanthemum coronarium, also known as Glebionis coronaria or crown flower, is widely grown for both ornamental and culinary purposes.

The flowers resemble daisies, bright yellow, solid yellow, or yellow with a white edge, about 3–5 cm in diameter.

The tender leaves and shoots are edible and are often added to soups, stir-fries, or salads. They are known as shungiku in Japan, tong ho in China, and serres in Greek dishes.

Also used in crop rotation systems and as a green manure to improve soil quality.

Preference: full sun and well-drained soil.
