Mushroom-shaped, red Capsicum chinense chili.
The fruits grow up to 8 cm long and are very spicy yet aromatic, with flavor notes reminiscent of lemon and apricot. Excellent for hot sauces and culinary preparations.
The plant is compact (approximately 60 cm), well-structured, and highly productive. With proper care, it will produce a reliable harvest. It can be overwintered in a cool, bright space for earlier fruiting the following season. Ideal as a potted plant.
Note: Capsicum chinense has a long growing season and grows best in a greenhouse.
Peppers need warmth. Best location: full sun in a south-facing position or in a polytunnel. Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Fertilize regularly with humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil.
Sowing: early January to early March indoors at 20–25 °C with a warm pre-crop.
Transplant: In a greenhouse or outdoors from mid-May, spaced 50 x 50 cm apart. Harvest: From the end of June, depending on the crop.
Peppers are sensitive to frost.
