Hamik, a variety originally from the Czech Republic, gained real fame through American routes.
An excellent, small-fruited, very rich orange snack pepper.
On plants about 60 cm tall, Hamik bears numerous elongated fruits of only 5 cm, exceptionally sweet and almost seedless.
An ideal snack pepper to eat on its own. The berries change color from light green to bright orange.
This variety from the Czech Republic is also particularly popular in the US and Great Britain, where it is sold under the name Yummy Orange . It is highly praised in relevant English-language gardening forums.
Sow from February to March at 22–24°C, transplant from mid-May at a spacing of 40 x 60 cm. Harvest from mid-August.
Keep the soil evenly moist, but not too wet. Fertilize regularly and use humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil. Peppers need warmth. Best location: full sun in a south-facing position or in a polytunnel.
Peppers are sensitive to frost.
