The Callistephus chinensis (Aster) QIS® Matsumoto Mixture BIO is a beautiful, organic selection from the well-known Matsumoto series. This early-flowering aster combines vigorous growth, vibrant colors, and excellent flower quality with environmentally friendly cultivation methods. Thanks to its organically grown seeds, this variety is ideal for gardeners and florists who choose sustainability without compromising beauty or performance.
The Matsumoto Mixture BIO produces lush, semi-double flowers with a radiant yellow center. The colors range from pure white to deep purple, soft pink, carmine red, and lavender blue, transforming any flowerbed into a vibrant riot of color. Flowering is early, profuse, and long-lasting—from June until late summer. The flowers are approximately 5 to 6 cm in diameter and grow on strong, upright stems that reach a height of about 60 to 70 cm.
This combination of robustness and grace makes the Aster Matsumoto Mixture BIO exceptionally suitable as a cut flower. The flowers have a long vase life and a fresh, natural look that makes them perfect for field bouquets or flower arrangements.
The Callistephus Matsumoto series is known for its good tolerance to Fusarium, a soil-borne fungus that makes asters susceptible to wilting. This organic variety retains this characteristic, ensuring reliable, healthy cultivation. However, it remains important to rotate the planting location annually or disinfect the soil to prevent contamination.
Growing tip: Asters prefer airy, well-drained soil. Avoid overwatering and ensure excess water can drain freely. This will keep the plants vibrant and floriferous.
The QIS® (Quality in Seed) quality mark guarantees high genetic quality and uniform growth. Only carefully selected varieties that meet the strict requirements of the floriculture industry are allowed to carry this label.
The addition of the BIO quality mark makes this aster even more unique: you enjoy the same professional flower quality, but from sustainably grown, untreated seeds. This makes the QIS® Matsumoto Mixture BIO a perfect choice for organic ornamental gardens, organic flower growers, and environmentally conscious enthusiasts.
