This exceptional aster stands out with its unique color combination: white petals with subtle blue edges and a contrasting bright yellow center. An elegant flower with a refined appearance, ideal for both professional cut flower growers and ornamental gardens.
Beautiful bicolor flowers.
The semi-double flowers of this aster have pure white petals with striking blue-tinted edges ("blue-tipped"). The flowers display a vibrant yellow center that adds contrast and depth to the flower head. This makes them real eye-catchers in bouquets or borders.
Early flowering and uniform
. The Matsumoto series was developed for early and uniform flowering. This characteristic makes the plants suitable for cultivation programs that require a reliable and predictable harvest.
Strong, upright stems.
The sturdy stems keep the flowers beautifully upright and make them easy to incorporate into bouquets. They are also wind and rain resistant, making the plants excellent for outdoor cultivation.
Fusarium Tolerant
The QIS® Matsumoto series is selected for its high resistance to Fusarium wilt—a common problem in asters. This significantly reduces the risk of failure, even under less-than-ideal conditions.
Asters are generally susceptible to Fusarium wilt, but Matsumoto Blue Tipped White offers additional security thanks to its increased tolerance. However, it's important to follow a few basic rules for successful cultivation:
Location and rotation:
Change the location annually or disinfect the soil to prevent Fusarium and soil-borne diseases. Choose a sunny spot with well-drained soil.
Water and soil:
Avoid overwatering and poorly draining soil. Water regularly, but don't let the roots remain constantly wet.
Sowing and Care
: Pre-sowing can be done from March to the end of April at around 20°C. Transplant into the ground as soon as the danger of night frost has passed. Direct sowing outdoors is possible from the end of April.
Care during growth:
Regular watering and removing faded flowers will prolong the flowering period. For continuous flowering, you can sow several times.
Callistephus QIS® Matsumoto Blue Tipped White is versatile and loved by florists and gardeners for its decorative and durable qualities.
Cut flower cultivation:
The strong stems and long-lasting flowers make this variety perfect for cut flower production. The two-toned flowers add a refined touch to bouquets and flower arrangements.
