Round, high-yielding beet.
An old, traditional variety with characteristic dark red beets. A special feature of this variety is its purple leaves, which are also very popular as a lettuce and enhance the flavor and color of mixed salad mixes.
Beets of this variety store quite well. They can be grown in clusters and require well-maintained, recently fertilized garden soil with even moisture.
Beetroot should be sown directly, as it does not tolerate transplanting. Sow from April to July in open ground; sow thinly in rows, 25–40 cm apart for beets, approximately 10 cm apart within the row, or singly, as a lettuce, 15–20 cm apart, 10 cm apart within the row. After germination, thin out to one seedling per spot. Beetroot is harvested as lettuce approximately 35 days after sowing, and as a root vegetable 55–60 days after sowing.
